Beauty, joy, mystery, wonder - it's all around us. Can you see it? Can you feel it? Knowledge brings us right up to the edge of understanding. A great teacher helps us go just a bit further - it is thrilling, learning! I have been joyfully learning with my students and professional community for the past 13 years as a Teacher Leader and Teacher at New Technology High School. Over 200 schools around the world have been modeled after our school’s innovative technology integrated project based learning environment through the New Tech Network. A graduate of UC Santa Cruz with a B.S. in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology and a Master's in Education, I have enjoyed my position as a teacher leader who manages dozens of student project teams at a time, leads adult learning training and professional development, captures and analyzes student and staff data to improve user experience and teacher effectiveness, makes use of current education tools and academic research, and above all to support every student in accessing the opportunities that a relevant and student-centered education provides.
